The Treasurer's office is authorized by the State of Kansas to apply for title, issue registration and tags for cars, trucks, motorcycles, motorbikes, trailers and also ATV's (title only). In some situations, sales tax will be collected at the Treasurer's Office even if some has already been collected at the dealership.  Beginning July 1st, 2002 sales tax rates were increased and there were changes in the collection process due to Legislation.  If you need a current rate click here, Sales Tax Rates.  Handicap placards, special plates, and temporary permits are also applied for in our office.   The state now offers on-line renewal option, please keep in mind that not all vehicles qualify for this service.  If you are considering using this service please allow 10 business days to receive your decals.
